The club was honoured enough to be contacted by our local Volkswagen Commerial Dealer, City Gate. Asking us if we would provide a few vehiches for there open day they where having to promote the launch of the new Caddy Camper. So a few of us headed down and lots of members poped in througthout the day to say, Howdy! Great chilled out day and the weather even stayed nice, City Gate also offered to come along and do a little display with a few of their campers at our Lazy Day Show this year, Result!
Probably one of the closets shows for the Wolfsburg Weed Huggers Club memebers so we expected to turn up in force. Not a bad start with 5 vehicles camping over the night before for the usual BBQ and banter until the wee hours. Including a late night table footy competition. After a surprisingly cold nights sleep the Sunday Show had great weather unlike the previous year, which ultimatly lead to a much larger turnout.
Headed off Friday afternoon I and James had a leisurely drive down with some great banter on the radios on the way. Something about cruising at 55mph in your bus that i find very relaxing, what’s the rush? Camped with a load of the Lo 'E' Nuf guys and girls, who were great company around the fire at night from what I can remember. This was a great show and will defiantly be returning next year, circuit racing was entertaining including the drifting Beetle’s and watching turbo_nutta tear his way round the circuit. Drive in cinema and silent disco which could have gone on for hours, no one wanted to leave with a few even dancing on the roof of a splitty!
Wolfsburg Weed Huggers Volkswagen Club
Founded in 1992 by Christian, Katherine and Nick. the totally unique club name was the product of a "we aren’t going home until someone comes up with something catchy" strategy. And thus the Wolfsburg Weed Huggers were born. Originally meeting at the Whittington Pub in Pinner, members fluctuated 4-5 people in the winter months through to 30+ in the summer.
